This is unreal!!  I can't belive the set of circumstances that have brought me here, and I must say how grateful I am that this site was developed.  I look forward to reconnecting with the people who share my memories of this little piece of Heaven in the mountains of North Carolina.

Believe it or not, I still have my green, autographed camp shirt hanging in a closet.  I've never been able to throw it away, as faded as it is.

You can find me on Facebook or e-mail me at either mike.lynch@mhagroup.com or mkclynch@yahoo.com.  My family and I are currently living in Alpharetta, Georgia.  I know there's more of you around here!

Hi Everyone - It's so exciting to find this website and I really hope a reunion is the result of this. I'm a Recruiter living in Boston with my husband and little boy. My brother (Rob) and I attended camp from 86-88, best summers of my life. When I think back to pivotal points in my life, camp is right up there at the top. Liz Kniep is still my best friend and I remain in touch with Andrew Brown, Pia Weiller, and Poppy Mackenzie (Steiner). In fact, Liz and I took a year off and went around the world
in 99! Rob also lives in the Boston area with his wife and 2 little girls. Much love to everyone!

From Patrick & Francy:
We met as counselors in 1977 at Camp Mishemokwa and married in December 1978. Since it was the first year of the camp under the Smith's ownership we had a lot of "discovery" to do to find things in the local area that kids would be interested in. We love to tell the story of how we met and took a trip down memory lane several years ago by driving back to the Camp. It was the year after Dr. Smith had first sold the camp. At that point it looked very familiar and in very good shape. We settled in California over 17 years ago and will soon start building our retirement home. Hi to all the counselors from 1977 and to the Smiths.

Seems like only yesterday i was there. The two summers (95&96) were the most transformative periods of my life. Hanging out and being influenced by the likes of Rob, Tony and Jobbins alongside the rest who shared in creating such a rich tapestry.

Wow, this is too funny! I'm so glad Janice showed me this site. I was a camper at Mishemokwa I think in 95, 96, and 97...but it's been a while. I have so many great memories from camp and i would love to go to a reunion and see some old familiar faces! I graduated from FSU in 2004 and I am currently living in Arizona going to the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, studying to be a Naturopathic Doctor. Hope everyone is doing well, and hopefully we will see eachother again soon!

Was a counselor in the summer of '84.  Great summer and met some great people!  I think at the end of the summer I made  50 bucks after the "draws" I had taken for those trips into Asheville.

Does anyone remember the night that summer when a fellow counselor was out on his day off, got smashed, and came back and played bumper car in the staff parking lot?  He was gone before dawn the next morning.

I went to Mishemokwa for six summers, 1990 to 1995, usually for the first four weeks. I have many fond memories and boxes of photos and letters packed somewhere in my parents' house. It was a lot of fun!
